Instructional Use of Technology
Policy 7-345 Use of Educational Technologies; Student Data Privacy and Security and its procedures and exhibits outline the District’s approach to data security for the technology used for administrative and instructional purposes. Periodically apps and websites utilized for classroom instruction require students to confirm they are 17 or 18 years of age in order to download or register or require other consent for use. These include vetted digital course textbooks and other apps approved by the District to be downloaded onto the District network and devices for class use. Example of such apps include, but are not limited to: Google Science Journal, Maps, Earth, Books, Blogger, Photos, Socratic, and YouTube. By completing the Authorization for Access to the District’s Electronic Network, parent/guardian agrees to the student’s use of these and other educational software, apps, and websites to participate in instruction and complete assignments.
