Career and College Technical Educational Opportunities
The Lake County High Schools Technology Campus is regarded as one of the Midwest's best career and technology education training facilities, with a highly qualified staff dedicated to excellence in career technical education. With 20 participating high schools from Lake and McHenry counties, encompassing over 1,800 high school students, Tech Campus is Illinois's largest secondary educational system for career and technology.
Most programs span two years, with the flexibility for students to complete the first year if preferred. Our Student Handbook includes comprehensive attendance guidelines emphasizing equitable access to Tech Campus and home school courses. Most courses offer two credits per semester and may even grant college credit, reinforcing our commitment to preparing all students for future success.
Notably, no tuition costs are associated with attending Lake County High School Technology Campus programs, aligning with our goal to eliminate financial barriers to quality education. While some programs may require the purchase of specific materials, we ensure that these costs are accessible to all students.
Conveniently situated next to the College of Lake County in Grayslake, the Technology Campus offers excellent educational opportunities for students seeking specialized career-technical skills. Students enrolled in courses divide their school day between their home school and the Technology Campus, with transportation provided by the District. This policy ensures that all students have equal access to the Tech Campus program as they work toward graduation credits that are integral to their future success.
