Class of 2024 Information – GrandGIANTs’ Day

Highland Park High School will be hosting our Annual GrandGIANTs’ Day on Tuesday, November 21, for grandGIANT(s), grandparent(s) or special senior, in your life of current senior students (Class of 2024).  The day is designed to offer an opportunity for students to share their school life at HPHS with their grandGIANT(s) and make a lifetime memory.  Attending grandGIANTs enjoy having the opportunity to come to the high school, spend time with granddaughter/son, and see what a portion of their day is like. 

For this event, a grandGIANT does not have to be a biological relative, but may be an older adult who has been a significant influence in the student’s life.  

All grandGIANTs attend school from period 2 through period 6, 9:20 a.m.-1:35 p.m.  Participating senior students will be excused from only periods 2 and 6.  The schedule for the day includes:

Period 2     9:20 am      Welcome reception and introductions in the auditorium

GrandGIANTs are encouraged to arrive between 9:00 – 9:15 AM to meet their grandchild in the science foyer – students with grandGIANTs attending will be released early from period 1 class.  GrandGIANTs and seniors should enter the auditorium prior to 9:20 AM.

Periods 3-5 10:00-12:50   Attend classes and lunch

The grandGIANT(s) follow their granddaughter/son’s schedule and attend classes and lunch. 

Cash & Credit Cards will NOT be accepted during lunch. Students must use their IDs. Please add funds to IDs via Infinite Campus.  

Period 6    12:50-1:35 Showtime!  All will enjoy special performances in the Auditorium.        

In order for us to plan for the day, we need to know which students will be bringing their grandparent(s)/significant adult, and the total number of grandGIANT adults who will be present in school. 

The registration link will be posted in October 2023! Students should register from their school Google account.   
Information about the day and a parking pass will be e-mailed to all student participants.  Senior students attending grandGIANTs should retrieve arrival and parking information on or before Friday, November 17 via school email.  We ask that all students register by Thursday, November 16.
