Upcoming Illinois State Board of Education Required ACT Testing - April 9 and 10 2025:
All freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are required to participate in the upcoming ACT testing. Freshmen will take the PreACT 9 Secure, Sophomores the PreACT Secure, and Juniors the ACT. This specific administration of the ACT for juniors is a graduation requirement per the Illinois State Board of Education. A weekend ACT does not satisfy the graduation requirement. Below are a few highlights related to the testing dates. A more detailed letter will be sent to the students and families of all students before spring break.
- As decided by the Illinois State Board of Education, all three levels of tests will be administered digitally. The only exception is if a student has an approved accommodation, on file with ACT, to test on paper.
- Most students will test in their Homeroom on Wednesday, April 9. Students who receive testing accommodations that require an alternative space will receive an individual email message notifying them of the location and testing environment.
- There are no classes on April 9 or 10. Most students will begin and finish testing on April 9. Some may test on April 10, and they will be notified if that is the case.
- Standard bus routes will run the morning of April 9 and 10 with various departure times to accommodate the different end times of tests.
