• Parents of HPHS Girls Swim & Dive Team,

Welcome to the 2020 Season!  We are looking forward to greeting all our returning athletes and to meeting an awesome new group of incoming freshmen.  The HPHS girls swim and dive team has a rich tradition of academic and athletic excellence AND tremendous team unity and spirit.  We take great pride that our 2017, 2018 and 2019 squads posted the one of the highest team GPA in the nation and a majority of our seniors were recognized as Academic All-Americans!

The next three months are going to be an incredibly exciting, fast-paced time during which our athletes work very hard.  We are here to support our girls and help build community among the families.

Please use the pages on this site to find information about upcoming events and general infomration.  Be sure to check the calendar regularly since some dates and times have been known to change in the middle of the season.

HPHS is in the Central Suburban League (CSL) North.  The CSL North schools include:  Deerfield, Highland Park, Maine East, Maine West, Niles North and Vernon Hills.  The CSL South schools include: Evanston, Glenbrook North, Glenbrook South, Maine South, New Trier and Niles West.

The team will only compete in dual meets this year.  There will be no relays due to IHSA health concerns.  The order of events is listed below.  irls may compete in up to 4 individual events this season.  All meets will be virtual meets, with each school competing in their home pool, and combining results to determine a winner for each race and for the meet as a whole.   JV events immediately precede varsity events.

    1. Diving
    2. 200 Free
    3. 200 IM
    4. 50 Free
    5. 100 Fly
    6. 100 Free
    7. 500 Free
    8. 100 Back
    9. 100 Breast

Dual Meet scoring is 6 points for 1st, 4 for 2nd, 3 for 3rd, 2 for 4th and 1 for 5th place (in individual events).  At most 3 athletes can score per school in each event.

Meets are fun, and very spirited.  If you have experienced "club" swim meets, the high school experience is very different.  A typical dual meet will begin at 5:00pm and end by about 7:00 to 7:15pm.  We don't really know what to expect in terms of time this season, but that will be something we figure out rather quickly.

Our main means of communication to the team and parents will be via Remind101.  This allows for transparency in messages, but delivers the messages directly to the phone.  Please click the link here to get directions to sign up for Remind101 messages.

Please encourage your girls to reach out to the Captains and / or Coaching Staff with any issues or questions and please get in touch with us if you need any help or information.  The first year on the team definitely has an adjustment period, but we do our very best to make it a positive adjustment to the team and to high school!

    Very sincerely,

Your HPHS Swimming & Diving Coaching Staff
