• Senior Honors & Celebrations

    • Honors Night invitations are usually sent by May 9th and all award winners will receive an invite.  The evening is a celebration of department awards, community recognition and scholarships, memorial awards, and special scholastic accomplishments.  Recipients are determined through achievements, nominations and applications.  All recipients will receive an invite with instructions about the evening in the mail.  Additional reminders will be sent via student email.  
    • This year Chamber of Commerce Scholarships and Awards will be recognized at HPHS’s Honors Night on Monday, May 22
    • All students & parents are invited to celebrate the achievements of their own child or to applaud the success of their child's peers. 


    Graduation Recognitions

    HPHS Scholars: 

    • Seniors with a minimum of a 3.80 grade point average on the unweighted scale or a 4.40 on the weighted will be named HPHS Scholars.  This recognition is at graduation only. 

    Seal of Biliteracy:

    • Township High School District 113 students have the opportunity to be recognized by the State of Illinois for earning proficiency in English and one additional language. The Illinois Board of Education's Seal of Biliteracy program will confer official recognition on the diploma and transcripts of those students who qualify. Click here for qualifying details. Two honors are available: 1. The Seal of Biliteracy: is awarded to junior and senior students whose proficiency level is equivalent to the Intermediate High scale set by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages. 2. The Commendation Toward Biliteracy: is awarded to junior and senior students whose proficiency level is equivalent to the Intermediate Low or Intermediate Mid scale set in a second language. Valedictorian and Salutatorian Highland Park High School celebrates the academic achievements of the highest GPA earners by designating these Senior students as Valedictorian and/or Salutatorian during the graduation ceremony. The student(s) with the highest weighted and unweighted GPAs will be designated Valedictorian. The student(s) with the second highest weighted and unweighted GPAs will be designated Salutatorian. GPAs are determined via Infinite Campus calculation and calculated to the hundredths place. It is possible to have multiple Valedictorians and Salutatorians for each class.
