Overview of the 1-1-3 Series

  • Student Services has launched a new family support networking series on topics related to special education. Because these meetings are for parents/guardians and aim to be as useful to parents as possible, they will be facilitated by one of our parents, Anne Neumann, and supported by District 113 staff. For each meeting, a subject matter expert will present each topic followed by questions. The meetings will be recorded and posted on our website for families who are not able to attend the meeting to be able to view the session at a time convenient for them. The links to the recordings can be found below. Please note: captions and subtitles will be added as soon as they are completed. When added, they can be accessed by clicking on the CC icon in the bottom of the video. It usually takes about 24 hours for captions in English, Spanish subtitles can take up to a week.

Following the first installment, a survey will be distributed to ask for feedback on preferences regarding the meeting format (virtual or in-person), topics, and times (lunch, evenings, etc.) that best meet our families' needs. Based on those responses, one more meeting will be scheduled prior to the end of the school year in May and a plan will be established for monthly meetings during the 2022-23 school year.
