    District 113 Adult Education is funded by grants and offers free programs for adults aged 16 and older. Our programs include:

    • English as a Second Language (ESL)
    • Adult Basic Education
    • Adult Secondary Education
    • Citizenship Preparation
    • Introduction to Healthcare Careers
    • Introduction to Administrative Office Careers
    • Careers Exploration Bridge programs
    • Entrepreneurship Bridge for High Intermediate ABE and ASE Students (ABE and ASE)
    • Illinois High School Equivalency (GED®) Preparation classes
    • Digital literacy workshops

    Course instruction covers essential skills, such as:

    • Basic literacy and academic skills
    • Learning the English language by focusing on listening, speaking, reading, writing, vocabulary and grammar
    • Digital literacy and keyboarding skills
    • Understanding citizenship rights and responsibilities
    • Preparing for employment and the workforce
