Dear 113 Community,
As reported, the Family Assistance Center run by the American Red Cross and FBI at Highland Park High School will end today at 7:00 p.m. The City of Highland Park will transition community resources to a Resource Navigation Center, the next phase in community response and support after the shooting on July 4. We are told that details will be announced Monday. Please see the City of Highland Park website for the latest statement.
In the event of an emergency, or if you or a loved one is in emotional distress, please call 911. Additional community resources for those affected are available at 211 Lake County. 211 is free, confidential, multilingual, and available 24/7. District 113 will continue its focus on supporting District 113 students. As Principals Finn and Anderson shared earlier this week, counseling services will be provided by community-based mental health therapists and will be available each Wednesday at Highland Park High School from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and again from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Those services begin Wednesday, July 20 and will continue until August 10. So that we can prepare and have the appropriate number of service providers available, we are asking students to complete this form for Wednesday, July 20. A new form will be sent out by the Principals each week for students to indicate which time slot they wish to select.

988 Three-Digit Dialing Code Goes Live on July 16
The new 988 three-digit dialing code for the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline is going live on July 16.
The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (formerly known as the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline) provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, across the United States. The Lifeline is comprised of a national network of over 200 local crisis centers, combining custom local care and resources with national standards and best practices.
In addition, the Lifeline's website includes information and resources on getting help and getting involved, resources for learning and for providers and professionals, and promotional resources to help spread awareness and promote prevention.
