1-09 Update on SHIELD Testing and on Extracurriculars | Actualización sobre las pruebas de SHIELD y las actividades extracurriculares

Dear District 113 Community,       Para español por favor haga clic aquí

To follow up from messages earlier this week about SHIELD testing, on Thursday, January 6, we completed 1,330 SHIELD tests, of those 46 were positive, which is both a bigger testing pool than Monday and a lower number of positive cases. Thursday’s testing resulted in a 3.45 percent positivity rate. All positive cases have been notified.

Reminder: Regardless of vaccination status, students who wish to participate in the extracurricular activities and athletics currently running must have a negative test result before moving out of adaptive pause. If a student did not test on Monday, January 3,  or Thursday, January 6, then the student is not eligible to participate.

Students in extracurricular activities and athletics who provided a negative test result for the week of January 3 will need to resume once-per-week SHIELD testing the week of January 10 to remain eligible. All students in extracurricular activities and athletics regardless of vaccination status must test.

Parents/guardians can find instructions on how to check their student’s testing history under the SHIELD tab of the COVID-19 webpage
