Fees & Refunds

Mandatory & Optional Fees

Township High School District 113 assesses an annual student fee to offset the cost of instructional materials, technology, and consumable resources. This fee supports essential items such as textbook rentals, workbooks, digital resources (eBooks), laboratory materials, and a personal Chromebook, including its maintenance, support and most repairs. Depending on student involvement, additional optional fees and extracurricular participation fees may also be assessed.

Following a series of discussions beginning last year, at the May 19 Board meeting, the District 113 Board of Education approved a new $450 all-inclusive student fee structure for mandatory fees for the 2026-2027 school year. A district-wide communication was shared with the community on May 20.

Illinois statutes permit public school districts to charge students a fee for the rental of textbooks and fees for consumable materials and supplies that are used in the course of a student's education. Illinois courts have consistently upheld the legality of schools charging fees for textbook rental and supplies. In general, school districts may not charge tuition to students residing in the district who attend public schools.

Fees will be assessed in late July. Should you require a payment plan, please contact the school directly. Fee waivers and financial assistance are available for qualifying families.
