Happy New Year!

A reminder, school resumes in person tomorrow, January 3, and below are a few updates and reminders.

  • The Illinois Department of Public Health affirmed on 12/30/21 that isolation and quarantine protocols for schools are unchanged despite recent changes announced by the CDC.
  • As of today, schools in Illinois are still operating under Executive Order 2221-25IDPH emergency rules, and IDPH and ISBE guidance for determining exclusion from school
  • Regardless of vaccination status, COVID-19 testing is required of all students currently participating in extracurricular activities and athletics beginning the week of January 3 and continuing the week of January 10.
  • All other students who have consent on file and staff are strongly encouraged to test for COVID-19 when SHIELD testing resumes on January 3.
  • SHIELD testing in D113 is on Monday and Thursday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM in J108 at DHS and C120 at HPHS. No appointment is required, but consent must be on file before a SHIELD test can be given.
  • Information for COVID-19 can be found on the D113 COVID-19 website under the SHIELD tab.
  • If your student has tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 90 days, please email d113covidresponse@dist113.org to report a positive case if you have not already done so. Those who have tested positive within the past 90 days will be exempt from SHIELD testing and quarantining for 90 days from the date of the positive test.
  • Mitigations are more important than ever:
  • A high-quality mask consistently and properly worn
  • Social distancing wherever possible
  • Stay home if you feel unwell

Kind Regards,
