Varsity Warriors Battle Vernon Hills

In a dual meet that will not easily be forgotten, the lady Warriors came up short to the Cougars in a classic CSL competition on Tuesday night. The DHS varsity squad battled from behind all night and landing just 0.5 points behind on the final score sheet.

After starting out strong on the uneven bars the Warrior posted a season high 32.4 points with senior Emma Kerstein leading the way with a 8.65 performance. The vault line-up squeezed out a 33.6 with a big stick landing by senior Joie Platt earning her an 8.5 score. Making up ground on the floor exercise ,the team posted a 34.45 performance, highlighted by Kerstein and Platt once again. Finishing on the beam with a season best performances by senior Jenna Ritzert and her 8.7  kept the girl’s team score close, but the Cougars were able to manage some last minute floor scores to edge out the Deerfield Squad.
