The Varsity Warriors were able to capture their first dual meet victory at Evanston Township High School on Thursday, December 5th. The team was led by the trio of seniors Emma Kerstein, Joie Platt, and Jenna Ritzert.
After a long bus ride and a quick warm-up the girls were a little shaky on the uneven bars with three falls to start the competition. Kerstein was able to steady the ship with her meet high 9.2. The team gained some momentum on the vault as they piled up four amazing performances capped by Kerstein's flipping run, where she earned a 8.5. The meet was still up in the air until the Warriors marched on to the floor. Junior, Serafina Gargiulo and Hannah Agins turned in their high score of the night with an 8.1 and 8.2 respectfully. They were followed by Ritzert's 8.3, Kerstein's 8.6 and Platt's amazing 8.8. The Warriors closed the door on the competition on the balance beam.
