Muddy Day at Washington Park

Whitney Young hosted the Fleet Feet Invitational at Washington Park last Saturday.  Cool and cloudy conditions with a little rain sprinkled in, made for favorable race conditions.  However, excess rain overnight led to a sloppy course that helped create a true cross country experience.  Days like this, you want to race for a place as a PR will be hard to come by.  Both Devin Greenfield and Hannah Rush both managed to take over a minute off their previous best, which is all the more impressive given the conditions.  They were 2 of 19 Warriors who ran their season best times.

As a team, we placed very well among the competition.  The Varsity team finished in 3rd place, the JV team took 2nd, and the Frosh/Soph team was the meet champion.  At that level, Caroline Reich was the individual winner and led 8 girls from Deerfield in the top 10 spots.
