Township High School District 113 Announces September 9 Joint Special Meeting with Bannockburn School District 106, Deerfield Public Schools District 109 and North Shore School District 112
Highland Park, IL – September 5, 2019 – The Township High School District 113 Board of Education in conjunction with the Boards of Education of Bannockburn School District 106, Deerfield Public Schools District 109, and North Shore School District 112 today announce that they will be holding a joint Special Meeting on Monday, September 9 at 6:00 p.m. at the THSD113 Administration Building.
The purpose of the meeting is to provide the opportunity for all four Boards of Education to begin discussing issues that affect students pre-kindergarten through grade 12. At the meeting Monday, superintendents from all four districts will present plans to collaborate more closely in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment and discuss ways all four districts work together to promote security for all students and staff. By working more closely together, all four districts will ensure a more uniform experience for families, achieve a better shared understanding of student learning and growth as well as take advantage of economies of scale wherever they can be found. This meeting provides all four Boards of Education a forum to discuss these issues with each other.
“We are excited to host the inaugural meeting of District 113, the district that encompasses our communities’ high schools, and the three sender districts that encompass all the elementary schools,” said District 113 Board President Elizabeth Garlovsky, who as president of the hosting district board will serve as President Pro Tempore for the Special Meeting. "As school board members who were elected by our community stakeholders, each of us has a commitment to all students in our respective districts, and this meeting demonstrates our commitment to working together by combining our efforts to more efficiently and effectively work toward our shared goals and to maintain awareness of each other's unique goals.”
The meeting will be held at the Administration Building in Township High School District 113 at 6 p.m. on September 9.
