Route Assignments

We also encourage you to review the Transportation Eligibility section located at the bottom of this page. This section outlines the criteria that determine whether a student qualifies for bus service. Understanding these requirements will help ensure your student qualifies for transportation services.
Transportation Eligibility
Students who reside 1.5 miles or more from their assigned school are eligible for transportation, this applies to the district’s General Education routes.
We will offer a pay-to-ride option for students who live within 1.5 miles of their assigned school after the first 3 weeks of school. The transportation department must take some time to monitor our bus loads prior to offering paid ridership. This is needed to assist with being proactive to avoid bus overloads when possible. Once the monitoring period has ended, parents/guardians may inquire with the transportation department to confirm if there is space available to allow a paid rider on a bus route near their residence.
Paid Ridership
Please submit your payment via Infinite Campus using the path below. Students will be assigned to a current designated stop. If you would like to know what that stop is, please feel free to email or call the transportation department at 224-765-1040 for more details. The walk to the stop distance may be a bit further as we do our best to avoid placing bus stops within the walk boundary when able.
The fee is $230 per student/per semester. The fee can be submitted via Infinite Campus. The path to submit the payment is as follows: school store > student activities > click the tile with the school bus that says D113 paid ridership to submit. Once you have submitted payment, please notify the transportation department at bhayes@dist113.org or rcastillo@dist113.org.
There is a payment plan option that allows two payments per semester. If you would like to pursue this option, please contact the bursar office at jrossi@dist113.org (HPHS students) and asuszek@dist113.org (DHS students).
Multiple Address Route Assignments
All students/families who require more than one bus route assignment must submit a request for the additional stop via email to the transportation department. The transportation department will only transport students to and from addresses that have been verified by our district registrar and listed in the student's Infinite Campus profile. Please provide the necessary information to our district registrar to have the address added to your student's Infinite Campus profile.
