AP & Dual Credit Courses

Overview

District 113 offers two college-level learning options: Advanced Placement (AP) and dual credit courses. Both provide motivated students the opportunity to experience rigorous academics, earn potential college credit, and potentially reduce future tuition costs.
AP courses follow a national curriculum set by the College Board. Students may earn college credit by scoring a qualifying score (typically 3 or higher) on the required AP exam in May.
Dual credit courses, offered in partnership with accredited colleges, allow students to earn both high school and transferable college credit based on successful course completion (often a grade of C or higher), with no separate exam required.
Students should review course prerequisites and consult with teachers or counselors to determine the best option for their academic and career goals.
