    HPHS Cafeteria Construction Notes and Update | Volume III | February 2020

    • The Athletic Entrance (by the circle drive) will be closed during construction starting March 2nd.  Students may enter through the Vine, Pool and H Entrances. The circle drop-off near the Athletic Entrance will be adjusted for student drop-off - we will be sure to have security posted the first few days of this change to assist with the new pattern.  Please reference this map for the details of the change in routing and drop off procedures.
    • Hallways surrounding the Cafeteria and PE offices will be adjusted throughout the project as needed for construction and safety needs.  
    • PE offices and the Athletic office will also be expanded and updated during this project.  Some PE teachers will move to room H210. Teachers will notify their students if their office has moved.  The Athletics offices will be located in the Library.
    • An area of the parking lot will be designated for construction vehicles and staging.  
    • A portion of the cafeteria will be closed in March.  This portion of the cafeteria is already cleared of seating.  Additional seating has been provided for students in the Commons and nearby locations.  As of 1/21/20, additional seating was added to the Commons, removing the round tables and replacing them with rectangular. Rectangular tables provide more seats for students and will be necessary until construction is complete.
    • Food service will continue to the end of the school year in its current location.
    • The bookstore will remain open for services for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year.  More information will be shared this summer regarding book sales in August.
    • We will be taking special care with art work, flags, and other items and displays.  These will be stored until construction is completed and new locations have been determined.

The circle drop-off near the Athletic Entrance will be adjusted for student drop-off - we will be sure to have security posted the first few days of this change to assist with the new pattern.  If needed, we will share a diagram once traffic flow can be determined.
    • A portion of the cafeteria will be closed in March and additional seating will be provided for students in the Commons and nearby locations.  
    • During winter break the Commons will be repurposed to provide additional seating for students, including the removal of the gallery walls in this space.  As of 1/21/20, additional seating was added to the Commons, removing the round tables and replacing them with rectangular. Rectangular tables provide more seats for students and will be necessary until construction is complete.

    • Food service will continue in its current location through the end of the school year.
    • The bookstore will continue in its current location through the end of the school year.
