SPECIAL PRESENTATION/FEEDBACK: Mr. Koulentas presented the school’s policy on feedback from teachers to parents. Koulentas emphasized that parents must feel able to talk to departments chairs, so that a process of dialogue can be initiated. One parent added that there’s a need for parents to feel calls to department chairs will be in confidence. There were concerns that parents didn’t feel comfortable calling. The issue of consistency between teachers was raised by a parent. Koulentas responded that there is a balance; individual teaching skills are valued. Most parents agreed that there should be a more uniformed set of guidelines for teachers to follow regarding feedback to students and parents. The discussion ended with Koulentas promising to follow-up by forming a parent/teacher committee to address feedback issues.
