Q.
What is Alive at 25?
A.
Alive at 25
is a young driver intervention program that zeroes in on
young drivers between the ages of 15 and 24 the group most
likely to be involved in fatal collisions. The highly
interactive four-hour program teaches young drivers how to
take control of situations by taking responsibility for
their own driving behavior.
Q.
Why did District 113 choose to mandate this program for
student parking privileges?
A.
In light of the tragic deaths of local teenagers due to
risky behaviors and inexperienced driving, the College of
Lake County approached us about offering Alive at 25
to our students in order to address teen driving behaviors
and attitudes. We believe this is another way to increase
safety for our students.
