District 113 is seeking stakeholder involvement in developing a five-year strategic plan to guide future decision-making. Community involvement is crucial as we strive for continuous improvement, and the District will be utilizing a robust, inclusive process that involves parents/guardians, staff, students and community members/organizations from the very beginning.
There will be multiple opportunities in the months to come for stakeholders to offer their input. The District will send/post a survey in September to determine key priorities for future discussion, and the District and its high schools will host numerous focus groups this fall to engage stakeholders in candid, productive dialogue.
“Our goal is to achieve broad participation from among the various groups that comprise our schools and community, and we hope many of our stakeholders will take advantage of this opportunity to help shape the future of District 113,” said District 113 Superintendent Dr. Christopher Dignam.
To ensure consistency, continuity and an unbiased perspective, all of our focus groups will be facilitated by Felicity Educational Services. The District’s goal is to complete the data collection process by the end of November to ensure adequate time for a thorough critical review of the draft document prior to finalizing and rolling out the new strategic plan in April 2017.
A link to the initial stakeholder survey will be shared and posted to the District’s website in early September; information about additional opportunities for involvement in the strategic planning process will be communicated in the weeks to come.
