For this assignment you will work in pairs researching two composers.  You and your partner will fill out the composer worksheet and prepare a ten-minute presentation for class.  (Worksheets will be done on the computer and copied for all class members to use as a resource.)  You and your partner will choose two to three songs from the composer’s body of work that represent a major style, influence, or change and present them to the class. 

Your evaluation will be based on the level of detail you include.  Try to determine the important information rather than lots of information.  For example, it’s less important to know the number of children a composer had but more important to know how their upbringing or family life influenced their writing.   The collaborators section is asking you to list and discuss on-going and long term working relationships they had with other artists and how those relationships influenced the composing. 

You are trying to summarize this composers work for us and to help us understand the influence he/she had on the American musical theatre.
