Assignments focus on the integration of the disciplines. Students receive credit in both Social Studies and English. Units of study may include Colonialism in Africa, the Russian Revolution, WWI, The Rise of Totalitarianism, WWII and the Bomb, the Holocaust, and Apartheid in South Africa . Readings vary from year to year, but have included: King Leopold’s Ghost, Heart of Darkness, The

Master and Margarita, Darkness at Noon, Regeneration, The Plague,

Copenhagen, Hamlet, Night, Cry, The Beloved Country, and My Traitor’s
