How to register for tests
- It is
recommended that you register on-line at http://www.act.org
for ACT or http://collegeboard.com
for SAT: Reasoning Test or SAT: Subject Tests.
- Practice booklets
are available in the CCRC.
- Students requesting
accommodations on the ACT/SAT must complete a special registration form available
in the Special Ed Department, as well as, the general registration form.
- Non-standardized
testing requires documentation
- ACT/SAT must
give permission to take non-standardized administrations including extended
time, distraction-reduced environments, tests on tape, oral tests, or large
print tests.
- Students may
identify 3 colleges to receive their scores free of charge when they register.
- Many students wait to view
their scores before releasing scores to colleges. Students electing not to
release scores until a later date may incur an additional fee; however, this
option allows students to see the test results before submitting the scores
to colleges.
- Be sure to use
the correct college codes listed for each college.
- ACT and SAT
have different codes for the same colleges.
- Students are
responsible registering for ACT/SAT.
- Note deadline
dates.
- Registration
forms must be postmarked by 5:00 p.m. on the last due date or submitted online prior to midnight.
- ACT/SAT allows
students to “walk-in” on the day of testing without pre-registering.
However additional testing materials may not be available. Check with
the testing coordinator at DHS or the high school where you wish to be a “walk-in”.
There is an additional fee for walk-ins.
- Please use the
Deerfield High School CEEB code number #141-570 when registering for
either the ACT or SAT.
- Deerfield High School does
not release any test scores to colleges without written permission
from the student and parent.
- The counselor
and College Counselor need test results for better counseling regarding college
selection.
- Students must
select a testing site to take the exam.
- Not all tests
are administered at Deerfield High School. Check site selection carefully.
- Tests not offered at DHS are
usually offered at Highland Park High School.
- Students may
register to take tests at other sites and in other states if travel plans
require these arrangements. Check registration book for locations and dates.
- Remember to
code DHS to receive the scores (#141-570)
regardless of testing site.
- ACT/SAT admission
ticket must be presented on the day of the test.
- Students will
need two forms of I.D. (one with a picture) to be admitted to the test.
