We developed a set of beliefs that serve as the foundation of our thinking.  These beliefs are a set of statements that give us direction in areas like hiring new teachers or creating positive school climate. The beliefs represent all segments of our school and community. They follow:   

About Students and Learning, we believe:

• All students can learn and achieve success.
• Learning is developmental, individualized, and a personal process.
• Students learn best in a caring and respectful environment where everyone is valued.
• Students are active partners in their own learning.

• Involvement in co- and extra- curricular activities are an important component in students’ lives.

   

About Teachers and Teaching, we believe:

• Teachers are role models who impact students above and beyond curriculum.
• Quality teachers are passionate, caring, and knowledgeable in both content and instruction.
• Teachers teach best when they are valued, empowered, and trusted.
• Effective teaching requires collaboration and collegiality.
• Effective teachers adapt their approaches to student learning.

About Learning Communities, we believe:

• Everyone in the learning community is a teacher and a learner.
• Learning communities embrace all kinds of learning and all kinds of work.
• The entire community fosters partnerships that promote learning.
• Learning communities promote harmony by embracing diversity.
• Learning communities hold rigorous standards.
